As a young girl I journaled, wrote fun short skits and plays. It followed me into college, then into graduate school — studying for my MFA in acting for film — where it became something more intentional.
Since then it's been on and off. I have unfinished screenplays. Unfinished books. Beginnings I loved and then set down somewhere and never quite returned to. If I'm honest, starting this Substack is partly an attempt to change that — to build the habit of finishing something, one essay at a time.
What ended up here, on the brands website, was always the polished version — the caption, the product description, the press quote. The rest stayed in notes apps, journals and files on my computer.
That changes now.
